Terms of Use

These terms apply when you use Wordkite English, including its website, lessons, practice and AI tutor. Wordkite is run by Wordkite English, called “we” or “us” below. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use Wordkite. Questions: wordkiteenglish@gmail.com.

Who can use Wordkite

You need to be at least 13 to use Wordkite. If you're a minor, you need the permission of a parent or guardian, and they should read these terms with you. Wordkite is for your personal learning. If you'd like to use it for a school or a business, please write to us first.

Your account

Give us accurate details, and an email address you can access. We use it to confirm your account and reset your password.
Keep your password private, and don't share your account. You're responsible for what happens on it.
Create only one account for yourself.
If you think someone else has used your account, change your password and write to us right away.

Plans and AI credits

The Free plan is free of charge. It includes selected lessons at every level, 40 AI credits a day, daily challenges and your latest 25 mistakes. A credit is used each time the AI writes a question, checks an answer or a practice sentence, explains a mistake or replies in a chat. Credits reset every day at 00:00 UTC. Unused credits don't carry over, and they have no cash value.

Premium is not on sale yet, and we won't charge you anything unless you choose to buy it. Before it goes on sale, we'll publish its price, billing, cancellation and refund terms. Features and limits may change over time, and we may offer them in some places and not others.

AI features

Questions, answer checks and explanations may be written by AI, and AI can make mistakes. It can mark a correct answer as wrong, or explain a rule badly. If something looks wrong, check it against another source, and please tell us at wordkiteenglish@gmail.com so we can fix it. Some tools are simpler than they look: on the home page, the box under the word of the day only checks that you used the word, not that your sentence is correct.

Please don't include personal or sensitive information in your answers or in messages to the tutor. They're sent to our AI provider to produce a reply, as described in our Privacy Policy.

Your results

Wordkite is a learning tool. It doesn't guarantee a particular level, exam score, job or result. Levels, points, streaks and progress are there to help you study. They aren't official qualifications or certificates, and they have no cash value. Wordkite isn't connected to any official exam or certification.

Acceptable use

When you use Wordkite, please don't:

Try to get around plan limits or AI credits, or reach Premium content without a Premium plan.
Access other people's accounts or data, or try to break or test the security of the service.
Disrupt the service, overload it, or scrape or copy it with automated tools.
Copy, sell or republish our lessons and questions, or use them to train AI models.
Use the tutor for anything illegal or harmful, or to generate content unrelated to learning.
Try to trick the AI into ignoring its instructions, or into marking wrong answers as correct.
Harass anyone, or impersonate another person.

Content

Lessons, questions, illustrations, the Wordkite name and the kite logo belong to us or to those who license them to us. You may use them for your own learning, but not for anything else without our written permission.

Your answers and messages remain yours. You allow us to store and process them to run the service, to show your progress and to personalize your learning, as described in our Privacy Policy. If you send us feedback or report a mistake, we may use it to improve Wordkite without owing you anything.

Services we rely on

Wordkite depends on other companies for hosting, sign-in, email, security checks and AI. The Privacy Policy lists them. If one of them has a problem, parts of Wordkite may stop working until it's fixed.

Changes and availability

We work to keep Wordkite running and accurate, but it may sometimes be unavailable or contain errors. We may add, change or remove lessons and features. If we ever plan to close the service, we'll try to tell you in advance by email.

Ending your account

You can stop using Wordkite at any time, and delete your account in Settings or by writing to wordkiteenglish@gmail.com. Deleting your account permanently removes your progress and can't be undone.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put the service or other people at risk. Where we reasonably can, we'll tell you why and give you a chance to fix the problem.

Our responsibility

Wordkite is provided as is. As far as the law allows, we don't promise that it will always be available, free of errors or right for your particular goals, and we aren't responsible for indirect losses, such as a missed opportunity or a failed exam, that result from using it.

Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be waived, including the laws of the country where you live.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Wordkite changes. If we make important changes, we'll update the effective date and let you know before they apply. If you keep using Wordkite after that, the new terms apply to you. If you don't agree with them, you can delete your account.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Brazil. If you have a problem, please write to us first, because most things can be solved quickly that way. If you're a consumer, you can also take a claim to the courts where you live, and you keep the protections of your own country's consumer and privacy laws.
